Donation for students of Dakha (Bangladesh)

Donation for students of Dakha (Bangladesh) - notPERFECTLINEN EU

This was our 3rd donation campaign with The Maria Cristina Foundation (MCF) – a non profit organization, aimed at breaking the cycle of poverty and providing necessary support to people in need. The main concentration of their donation campaigns is on education of children and adults, empowering them to dream big and help them achieve more in their lives. All kids deserve to have equal rights in education in order to reveal their potential. Therefore, it is truly heartbreaking to learn that some of these children might not be able to explore the opportunities and receive proper education due to the lack of finances.

The main goal of this donation campaign was to collect money for students of Dakha, Bangladesh. They were lucky to win 83% scholarship to go to the University in Portugal, in September 2018. The only problem is that they were struggling to cover visa and flight costs. This issue might have stopped them from taking this important opportunity that could change their future and finally break the cycle of poverty that their families have been experiencing for many years.

In order to understand the importance of going to the University for these students, you have to process the fact that these kids are the first generation of their families to reach grade 12 and a chance to move forward might be a once in a lifetime opportunity for them. Exploring different cultures, learning interesting subjects and meeting new people from all over the world might open endless opportunities for them. And all it takes is financial support.

Sustainability is much more than ethical production and consumption. Looking into the world from a bit different perspective allows you to discover the beauty in helping others and the power of relatively effortless acts of kindness. Care for the ones in need gives fulfillment and meaning to your life – we have experienced it for sure!
